Generate testing credentials
Generate credentials to authenticate requests while testing an API in a non-production environment.
Before you start
You need access to the documentation environment and an API that is available for testing before you begin.
Retrieve the client ID and secret
- Sign in to the documentation environment.
- Open the relevant application.
- Find the Client ID in the application settings and save it for later.
- Continue to client secrets.
- Generate a new client secret.
Copy the client secret immediately. It cannot be retrieved later; generate a new one if it is lost.
